10 Verses for Worry

The topic our pastor preached on this morning really hit home with me. He talked about stress and how the number one contributor to stress is worry! I am not sure if anyone else struggles with worry and anxiety as much as I do but I have encouragement for you, God has your back! He did not just put HIS only SON on the cross to die for you, just to leave you alone as you walk through life. God makes 7000 written promises throughout the Bible to always care for us and guide us…behind every promise there is a premise. Here are 10 verses I have put on note cards throughout my house that remind me WORRY DOES NOT WORK!!!

 

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.   ~Philippians 4:6-7

Anxiety weighs down the hear, but a kind word cheers it up.    ~Proverbs 12:25

A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.      ~Proverbs 14:30

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;                                                                                                                                                                         ~Proverbs 3:5

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.     ~1 Peter 5:7

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?              ~ Romans 8:32

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.       ~Phillipians 4:8

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.     ~John 14:27

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.        ~Psalm 55:22

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.       ~ Psalm 23:4

 

 

My advice…write these down on pieces of paper or note cards and hang them all over your house so that you can see them throughout your day! Doing this has helped me when I find myself starting to worry over something and I see one of these verses and I just start praying that God will overcome my worry. Because my God is greater than my worry!!
